Sandblasted door panes

We've had a new door fitted with sandblasted panes of glass (double glazed). We've noticed that instead of 2 sandblasted planes to make the double glazing, there is a clear pane on the outside (street side) and a sandblasted pane on the inside of our house. It looks a bit odd to me as from the outside clear pane looking in you can see various inperfections in the beading etc and I expected a sandblasted effect to both panes. Does anyone know if this is the usual approach? Many thanks!

We have had the same done and also the little window above but with the house number left clear IYKWIM.

The sandblasting is only one side but there are no imperfections at all.

Thanks for the reply. Your door sounds nice! I wasn't sure if this was standard.

I've recently had ours done but with a border left clear. Ours has the sandblasted pane on the outside. It looks fine, the inside view is ok too as I think the internals and fitting of the double glazed panel is neat and actually nobody stands looking at it from the inside. I get that having the clear glass on the outside means you look into the window 'box' which I agree is a bit odd.

Thanks for your replies! The fitters made a number of errors with the order so I was worried this wasn't standard. I think the issue is that it hasn't been done neatly so when looking in from the outside the felt is sticking out in places, there are strips of felt hanging down - it seems that's the main issue to raise not the clear glass pane.
