Building niggles

Hi
Just had bifold doors fitting and the builders have left a narrow gap in between doors and walls.surely it's supposed to be flush to doors as it's too narrow to get in and paint.
Also at the top the gap is wider at one end!
The doors are anthracite and walls will be white so needs to be straight lines
The builders comment is oh the decorator can sort!!
Any thoughts on what to do ?
Tia

Did they measure up properly? I would expect the frame to sit against the wall.

A difference in gap at the top vs thw bottom could be an indicator that your wall isnt perfectly straight so there would always be a gap. Have you used a spirit level to see if the frame is perfectly upright?

I thought they had measured correctly but even when guy was fitting the door he commented that they would plaster straight to the frame
Haven't got a spirit level but will try and get one
I also made a comment about the plastering not perfectly smooth and he was so arsey with me 😕

See what you mean, these tiny gaps are not great to paint. Maybe you can use beading strips to hide it, wickes/b&q etc usually have loads to choose from.
Another option is to Chuck a load of decorators caulk in the gap, but you might get cracking at the join. The small gap is to hide the cracks

Decorators caulk will make it a bit neater.

Whenever you fit a large component such as a door or window you are at the mercy of the shape of the walls. You can't make the doors out of square just because the walls are. That said ask for an explanation if you are not happy. The way I would fix the doors is using glazing packers, screws and expanding foam. The foam can be cut back and filled over. However any filler or caulk can crack.

Thanks engineers
I'm going to get the builder to look at it this morning and hopefully it can be resolved
