Mice infestation - Could they be coming from our semi-detached neighbours house?

We've had a mouse infestation in our london edwardian, semi-detached house (built in 1903).
We've caught 8 mice since Sunday, two of which were very young which suggests they're breeding in the house.
I've checked the exterior of the house thoroughly and can't see how they're getting in.
I've previously put a very fine metal mesh over the air-bricks to ensure they can't enter that way.
I'm beginning to wonder if they are coming from the neighbours rented house attached to ours.
Does anybody know if these houses have a solid wall running between them or if there are normally spaces under the floorboards where mice can travel from one property to the other?
Thanks

We have raised floors with cellar or crawl space under them and cavity walks with metal wall ties in a house completed in 1907. In a semi or terraced house it is wise to take steps to deal with pests in all connected properties. Ask your neighbours if they have signs of mice.

Mice can get through tiny gaps - just a quarter inch diameter is enough.

Have you checked thoroughly in your house for nests? We found one in the back of a drawer in a chest of drawers once.

Once we got a cat our mouse problem disappeared.

They often get in along (the top) of the services pipes (gas, water etc). They can get through anywhere where you can fit a pencil width, even small gaps between floorboards sometimes.Get a pest company in and don't assume they are all gone just because you don't see any for a while.

Why would you automatically assume they are coming from your neighbours?

Our previous neighbour had a rat infestation, called pest control and blamed us for it. Pest man found rats were breeding in their shed. and I didn't say ner-ner-na-ner-ner to them

I thought my neighbours might be a possibility as I have spent a lot of time, money and effort mouse-proofing my house.
I went around there yesterday and spoke to the decorators who are painting the house between lettings.
They confirmed that they had seen mice.
I looked at the airbricks and the gaps were almost an inch square ... probably big enough for a rat to get through!
The letting agent is coming around tomorrow and will knock at my door ... hopefully.
Obviously I would hope to sort this out through discussion but just wondering what the legal position hers is if mice are entering my house via the neighbour's house?
I guess it would be difficult to prove.

have you ever seen the gap a mouse can squeeze through? they can get inside yoir oven along the pipes. these mice are probably living in your house permanently rather than popping in to visit
