White floor tiles in Kitchen, IABU?

Am I crazy to want to put white large floor tiles in a small flat kitchen ?

We've just started a renovation and are stuck on floorings. I want to have large white floor tiles in the kitchen and DP thinks I'm crazy. IABU to think they would look great and be easy to clean?

We'd also be putting in white matte cabinets with probably a wood oak worktops.

What other flooring should we look at, if white tiles is too much?

Think this would be a nightmare to keep clean. Put some large sheets of white paper on the floor for a day or two and see how much dust and fluff accumulates on it.

I once had white kitchen tiles in a rented house and they were an absolute nightmare.

Few have just moved to a house with brand new kitchen and white tiles. It's horrendous. Although as my mother constantly states the dirt is still there on any other colour and is no excuse not to clean daily.

Don't do it! I've just got rid of a pure white bathroom floor which always seemed to be covered in fluff, dust and hair within about three hours of cleaning it. The difference patterned tiles have made is incredible. I cannot imagine what it would be like to have a white kitchen floor, but unless you like mopping after every meal, I really, really wouldn't put one in.

PS I would go for a light oak effect floor to tone in with worktops; perhaps Karndean type, rather than real wood.

Not sure how you feel about things floral, but there are white Cath Kidston floor tiles with a pretty sprig design that get excellent reviews..would still be bright and fresh for you, but the design might hide the odd bit of fluff etc.

Another one saying Noooo. I have white tiles on my bathroom floor. Looked beautiful for 5 minutes and have pissed me off ever since. I hate them.

They never look clean, I have to sweep it many times a day. Kitchen would be a whole lot worse.

We have large light cream tiles in our kitchen. Yes they show the dirt (and black dog hairs) but not actually dirtier than any other colour would be in reality. My biggest problem is the light coloured grout that is hard to keep looking good.
