Removing a huge oak tree and pine tree

We have 2 massive trees in our garden (1 oak and 1 pine). They cause non-stop debris and we are wondering about having them (or one) taken out. Does anyone know approx how much this might be (we are in Surrey) and how they would do it?

If the oak is huge it might have a TPO. Nationally thousands of aged oaks are under an order. It depends if you want the wood disposed of (the oak will be valuable if solid inside) if you want to keep the wood yourself this may be more/less expensive depending on whether the arborist considers the tree's worth.

I'd check about tree preservation orders before you do anything. The oak especially might have one. They are a huge resource for wildlife, more so than the pine.

Forgot to say - we've checked and no TPOs!

Mature trees are very valuable for the environment.

Please don't.

How close are they to the house? Removing them can cause heave and damage your foundations.

Fairly close - 15m for the oak and 20m for the pine. We may well keep the oak (which I imagine will be harder to remove) but the pine doesn't offer us anything and drops debris constantly

We had a huge diseased mature oak removed last year. Prices averaged around £1000. This included stump removal and removal of all wood.

Sorry, forgot to say we're in the Midlands.

Please rethink. We need all the mature trees
