Actually I think you do have a rendered parapet above the garage door obscuring the flat roof anyway.

I think the window bottoms will have less light under 'alternate' so those room will be darker.
But, there again, the top window under 'front elevation' will only have 4 panes instead of 6, so that room will be darker.
Which rooms are more important?

I think that you want a hybrid: six panes above and no taradiddle of any variety below (so no compromise to light levels). Maybe a taradiddle above the garage door to compensate and add aesthetic?

We are going with 6 panes on first floor window. The first floor window will not be bay type. It would be regular straight run of panes so we would need some sort of cover over the bay windows of ground floor.

The new set of options had those six panes divided into two windows or keep as single large window. All these windows are north-west facing.

I think it would be ok to have a bit reduced light on ground floor windows as smaller one will be window of boot room and the larger bay one would be formal lounge. We anyway put blinds partly closed on it as it faces street. The first floor windows are going to be master bedroom's windows.
