How far did you go for a property

At my wits end. Looked at about fourty properties and offer accepted on one in March. The more we've seen it the more we liked it. It's quite unique and really suits us. Getting so far has been a slog, there is a problem with the deeds and the vendors are splitting up so communication has been difficult. But we there, on Friday we agreed a way forward.

So this morning the purchasers of our house tried to renegotiate ! The valuation has come out at a crazy figure (about 7 percent under price) and they have split this with us. We know there were problems with the valuer and we know this should impact them financially (they have a 70% deposit). They have also cited various issues on the survey, all of which seem to us to be normal issues on a house of this age.

So where do we go? I love our new house and we could at a big stretch weather this cost, but I feel as if this is now a stretch too far and I'm just exhausted by this house selling process. How far have you gone to get a property you thought was perfect ? And if you didn't did you regret it?

I really feel that if its the house for you then it will happen. We had a hard time moving into our now house a few years back. Think 60 viewings, 4 offers accepted and then falling through for various reasons and then the bottom of the chain pulling out in exchange day. I think you have to stick to eery guns. People arseholes often try it on with a sudden reduction. Unless its a real and massive issue then tell them to jog on! I would say well at that price we can't move on so the whole chain will collapse. Almost guaranteed they'll suck it up then as they've paid out for conveyancing already. Good luck!

The buyer probably read the news that house prices are falling and is prepared to walk away?

If you go ahead or not depends how much energy you've left. Good luck.
