We've recently moved house and were disappointed when the oil-fired boiler broke down. We got someone out to look at it and luckily there is nothing seriously wrong, however the heating engineer (oftec) identified a problem with the supply line. At some point it appears that the oil tank was moved and the supply line to the boiler has not been installed correctly.
Apparently they should be either clipped along a wall or buried underground. There is a clear route around the house by which it could be routed and just dug in at the end, however the engineer said that it mustn't pass by any drains or water outlets (there is a sewer by the house). He was absolutely insistent that it must be buried. Surprise surprise digging a 20 metre trench will be a lot more labour.
I can't find anything in oftec guidance about it not passing near drains when routed above ground. Does anyone know for definite what is and isn't allowed?
