Laminate flooring on wall

Has anyone done this? I'm looking at an area in the kitchen measuring approx 200cm x 100cm
Lots of nice images on google, but would appreciate any personal experiences.

For the texture sunny. And the choice.
Not decided on wood effect, so not necessarily the 'pine clad' look

This is identical to how our kitchen will be so the space I'm looking at laminating is where this image has brick wall

Wouldn't it be rather heavy?

Ply might work better. Lots of inspiration online for that.

Wall panelling is great. Made of pvc and ours has a marble effect. Easy to clean. Nice and light.

Not sure how you'd attach laminate but how about 'wood look' tiles?

Loads about at the moment with all different finishes and colours, practical for a kitchen too.....

I don't like the imitation wood laminate, but the imitation tile or stone look OK. It is very durable and can be washed (but not scoured or the picture will come off)

It is generally click-fit or T&G. Put it with the tongue facing upward so that any water will run out rather than sinking into a groove. Due to the fitting, you only need a couple of screws in each piece.

If you fit it before the wall cabs, you will save a lot of cutting and trimming.

Take enormous care not to screw into any pipe or cable. They should run vertically or horizontally, never diagonally, but you can't be sure....

I don't like laminate flooring but I did use oak flooring to make a panel in the bathroom to cover the gap left when replacing the sink. I made matching top caps in oak. I placed battens on the wall to plumb it up, pinned the toungs, screwed the top board and covered with pellets.
