Travertine kitchen floor

We aren't putting underfloor heating down, but need to replace the kitchen and dining room floor.
Would travertine or other stone tiles be too cold? We could always just wear slippers but not sure how practical that is long term!

With regard to other options:
We have solid oak floor everywhere else but have had issues with humidity so know from experience it's not suitable for the kitchen.
We haven't found any karndean/amtico we like. We don't like imitation flooring.

Any suggestions? Your help is much appreciated.

We have underfloor heating and travertine and it's lovely and warm 😀

We have limestone and no underfloor heating and it's like ice.

I would be a bit careful with travertine as it can be a bit porous. I have it in bathrooms but I am not sure about it in a kitchen. I actually have ceramic that looks like limestone - everyone thinks it is limestone. It cleans beautifully and is much easier to look after. My friends with real limestone keep having it professionally cleaned and sealed. My house is large and worth a lot of money so we took this decision very carefully. We do have underfloor heating and I would recommend that if you can! I have oak in the lounges and dining room but the tiles everywhere else.
