Need new kitchen (just 6sq m of space)

Hello, we moved into a new property with a tiny kitchen (just 6m). I want to update it and not sure if ikea would be very helpful with this sort of size. Feel like I need to put lots of planning into it, but don't want to send too much money as we'd probably need to move out in 3-5 year time. Would prefer lots of drawers as I find them more useful than cupboards. Any recommendations? My budget (without appliances and installation) is around 3k. Thanks

DIY Kitchens? Have wall cupboards right to the ceiling for extra storage.

My kitchen is this size, I DIY'd from Ikea. They can help with layout if you want it and have lots of flexible cupboard options. I know you're looking for other options but just thought I'd share that Ikea worked for mine in case that's helpful.

Tiny kitchens are the trickiest, but most rewarding, to plan when you finish and you can see it all works !!

Don't forget plinth drawers for extra storage and if doing high cabinets - consider how you will reach into them too ! Some amazing gadgets about these days that can help !

Definitely look at DIY kitchens as they have a huge range of unit sizes, Ikea are only 40/60/80cm now.
Ikea do have the best ideas so it's still worth going to browse.

Is it going to be one run of units or can you fit shallow units on the facing wall?

if it is very narrow, you can use wall cabinets as floor cabinets on one side, because they are only about 300mm deep. It is actually easier to get stuff out of the shallow cabs, and you are less likely to lose stuff at the back.

Some are made 900mm tall, which (when you add legs) will make them taller than usual. Ordinary wall cabinets are about 600 tall, so unless you wound the legs up very high, would give a low worktop. If you are tall you will be OK with a higher worktop.

Use narrow doors so they don't stick out into the room very far. You can have an 800 wide cabinet with two 400 doors, or a 60 with two 300 doors.

You can put 600mm deep units at the end furthest from the door, because you won't have to walk past them. The cooker and fridge will be full depth, preferably the sink as well.

Ordinary laminate worktop is very easy to cut with a circular saw, to fit your narrow cabinets if you have them.
