Any ideas if this is something that's going to be expensive? ☹️

I guess anybody who knows anything might need to know what kind of boiler it is? Have you checked the pressure?

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/05/2017 21:06

(All our boiler faults seem to relate to pressure, either too high (bleed a radiator, mop the floor, restart the boiler) or too low (top up the system and restart the boiler)

Yeah pressure is always fine, it's a vaillAnt boiler

I had an F61 fault on mine (2 years old so in warranty). They came out and replaced the PCB. Google it and you'll see what fault it is. Or should be in the manual. Is it in warranty? They usually have 7 years cover...

Google f62 and your boiler make/model.

I think mine was an F62. I can't comment on how expensive it was as I had the wholeboiler replaced as it was in a bad state all round!

The repair man pressed the button that had a picture of a flame on it and it reset the fault though meaning we had heating and hot water until he replaced it.

(You are unlikely to need the whole boiler replacing, just to be Clear!!)

As soup said press the button with the flame on & usually the boiler starts up again, I have a valiant & few times had f62 fault first time was pcb board & the most recent, when boiler drains off excess water/steam(probably not the right technical term😳) the little pipe was blocked we have British gas monthly boiler care, so didn't cost us anything, they waived the excess as the fault occurred a few times before they sorted it.
