Moving to new house which doesn't have a coax point for tv.

Is it necessary or can I do without or something else?

So there's no aerial? Not necessarily a problem if you're planning to get cable or Sky TV. It's not difficult or expensive to have an aerial installed, though. Or you can get an indoor one, but they're not very pretty and need a good strong signal to work well.

I don't have my tv plugged into an aerial (I have one but the signal is awful). I watch tv using a fire stick and now tv via the internet.

A lot depends on how many rooms you want to have a screen in, what you want to watch and how you normally watch it? Sky/cable, Netflix, firestick etc

Itl just be in the living room only and just for watching freeview channels.

Didn't plan on getting sky or virgin media

We use the previous owners' satellite dish for Freesat and have a Human Freesat box. You can just an aerial installed - needn't be that expensive if you find a local firm. We did that in our old house as the previous occupants had cable and we didn't want it. We had a second cable installed at the back of the house at the same time which gave us the option of move than one TV.

I've just called up sky who I have my broadband to move it to new house and they have offered to give me sky q for £7 a month with free installation.

I've never had sky, is it worth it?

Works out at £84 for the year and will save the hassle of getting an aerial fitted or using an indoor aerial

We got an aerial fitter at our new house. It was really easy. Only a few hours work and it wasn't expensive.
