£700 private..3 bed semi, North West (but been here 4 yrs now..prices for similar are now £900 so hope to christ we don't get booted out any time soon as cannot afford that:/ )

jess28593 · 30/04/2017 20:32

I payed 525 for a 2 very small bed flat with a living room/kitchen in one

I know pay £360 for a large 2 bed house with a large garden

Also my private landlord left us 4 weeks with no hot water or heating WITH A NEWBORN council are much better in my opinion😊 if you rent definetley pay the extra agency fees through a reputable agent so you know repairs will be done efficiently!!!

£88.55 a week, including water rates, for a 3 bed semi with front and back gardens, in County Durham. H.A.

Small two bed modern terrace with off street parking and garden £500 a month in Nottingham. But landlady keen to keep me so not put up rent in line with the local area.

Neverknowing · 30/04/2017 20:59

We rented a one bed flat for £700, my parents had a three bed council house when we were young for £600. The disparity between the two is big here.

Crispsheets · 30/04/2017 21:01

Small 3 bed terrace Sw London £2250 a month Sad

itsacatastrophe · 30/04/2017 21:05

HA £120 a week for a new build 3 bed EOT in Kent. A similar property privately would be £1000+ a month

Darkblueskies · 30/04/2017 21:10

Wow HA are substantially cheaper than private aren't they. It's so wrong that there aren't more of them around!!
We recently paid £700 per month for a 2 bedroom flat. We now pay £580 for a 3 bedroom semi on our mortgage. Renting is great in some respects but admin fees, deposits etc etc all such a hassle. Also things like having to pay a fee for car insurance every time you have to move makes renting very expensive.

Darkblueskies · 30/04/2017 21:11

This is Manchester area.

happy2bhomely · 30/04/2017 21:12

£145 week, 3-bed council house with garden and including water, in a London borough.

The property is worth £400,000. It would cost around £400 a week privately.

We are incredibly lucky. We waited 6 years in temporary accommodation and then another 6 years in a high rise flat before moving here.

£630pcm for a bedsit in SE London (zone 2), private rent from a HA

Grin do I win?

scaryteacher · 01/05/2017 16:33

€2570 per month for a 4 bed just outside Brussels.

meganix · 01/05/2017 19:24

3 bed detached, massive garden £500pcm, South Wales

meganix · 01/05/2017 19:26

Forgot to add, private. Plus drive & garage. Am Shock at some of these rents!

MongerTruffle · 01/05/2017 19:27

We own a house but we privately rented until September. We paid £575 per month for a 2 bedroom bungalow with a medium-sized garden and a conservatory in East of England.

champagnecyclist · 01/05/2017 19:30

£500 East Midlands, small 2-bed terraced house, 2 parking spaces, small feint garden, large back garden, shed, quiet residential street.

silversheen · 01/05/2017 20:49

£503 per month for a 2 bed flat on a grotty council estate in London (zone 1). There are some communal gardens but the location is notorious for knife gangs. Flats on the estate get rented out for £1600 a month and sell for £450k. But I had to go through domestic violence, very ill health and homelessness to be able to get the tenancy so I don't consider myself 'lucky' to have been prioritised on the waiting list although the low rent is a relief.

Lflossy88 · 01/05/2017 20:54

Scotland town - 3 bed mid-terrace with large garden. Just shy of £300 a month w/ HA. Similar house privately would be around £550/600 I think.
