How soon did you start sorting things out ready to move once sale & purchase agreed?

At last we are on the move! Offers accepted today.
Any tips for getting ready to move with young children?
I am determined to be organised and not leave everything to the last minute like we normally do!
We have a loft full of stuff I'd like to try & sell but very little space to put things whilst sorting out.

I realise it may take weeks/months to move but we are in a short easy chain so I'm hoping it won't be too long.

How soon did you start after sale/purchase agreed? Thanks

Thanks Redfairy, didn't realise it could be that quick after exchange!

We've moved twice in last few years. Both times it was 8 weeks from offer to completion (both fast despite being chains of 4!). First time we exchanged 8 days before completion and this time it was only 2 (though we knew the anticipated completion date for a few weeks and had to work towards it even though it wasn't definite until exchange!).
I was torn regarding preparations as I'm a bit pessimistic/superstitious and worried that packing too early would jinx it so I did lots of things that wouldn't matter if we didn't move - e.g. Charity shop runs, tip runs, general decluttering. I didn't start actually packing until about 10 days to 2 weeks before the anticipated move when it came to the point that I had to be optimistic and go for it or we were going to be in trouble!
