where to buy: Welling or Bexleyheath?

We are trying to buy our first house. I have two choose between two houses either 2 bed in Bexleyheath near Crook Log Leisure Centre or 3 bed in Welling near Welling School.

Both are within walking distance to station, which is really important as we both work in London. Price wise they are not far apart as 3 bed requires some work whilst 2 bed is nicely done.

My dilemma is that we are trying to start family, so I want to make sure I will be able to send little one to a good primary school in few years time. I know it is very forward thinking but I dont think we will be able to move for a while, so have to make sure the location is right.

Unfortunately I am clueless here, so looking for advice...

Sort of. Are you mostly concerned about which school would be the best?
If so, maybe better to make a new thread asking specifically for best primary schools in Bexleyheath/Welling.

Hey I know this is old but where did you end up moving to?

Wow, this is blast from the past. We ended up in Welling.

It is indeed, I'm sure things have changed a lot since you last posted. We've liked a house on Roseacre road, South Welling, wondering if it's a good area to live in.

Would really appreciate some advice.

I'm also unsure about nurseries in the area, there's The Croft which is in Bexleyheath and has great reviews. Also looking at playgroups, schools for when my LO starts going and parks/things to do nearby.

If you could share your insights that would be great.

Thank you so much!

South Welling is certainly seen as a better part of Welling. You can't go wrong with being close to Danson Park and Crook Log Leisure Centre. Can't comment on playgroups as my little one hasn't been really attending them due to Covid

You will be living close to Fosters Primary school which has great reputation. I wanted my little one to go there but due to logistics we send him elsewhere. Just a note of caution, there isn't a great choice of good secondary schools, most of them has a bad reputation, which I haven't quite realised at the time.
