pros and cons of a sink in the utility room

Never had a utility room so not sure about the pros and cons of having a sink in there.
Kitchen is next to the utility room (in house we are in the process of buying), as is the downstairs loo so two sinks very nearby.
We will be pretty much gutting the house and there is a sink in the utility room at the moment.
Any thoughts?

Love my utility sink we used to wash the dog in it, (no dog now) and it's a great place to stick a bucket with clothes soaking, as I don't trip over it.

My dream is a separate utility room with lovely butler's sink in it, wide double drainer, and then a hanging airer over the top.

Muddy boots, fouled bedding, hand washing stuff and then being able to hang it to drop dry over the sink, wet tents...

Ps - my dream dream utility would also have a sealed floor slightly angled with a drain in it so I could sluice it down when necessary.

we have a combined washer/drier. That was to make space for an extra fridge. I don't think a separate tumble drier is essential at all.

crumbs the sinks aren't the whole purpose of a utility room. Bedding pre-washed in machine, muddy shoes cleaned outside, no winemaking or tie dying, defrost on a platter, no hand washing, no hamsters or stick insects and we'd need a bigger ice bucket than a sink could provide Wink

No to stacking because of windows. Could possibly put up a wall airer though. It's only a small sink too, no good for mucky dogs etc. It will have to go!

Sorry we'll have to disagree. I can get 24 bottles of Nyetimber in my sinks. How much do you drink at your supper parties? My current machines don't have a sluice cycle so I can't put yucky stuff straight into machines. That would be too gross! I don't have a platter big enough for a side of lamb. Different lives, I guess.

I can't see the point if a utility without a sink either. I use mine daily, if not hourly.
