Rightmove or Zoopla Page Views

Help!
I am trying to sell my house and its via an agency who have listed it on rightmove and zoopla.
I would like to see how many page views my house is getting or has had since it was listed, but I do not know how.

Our estate agency sent us an emailed report giving the number of views. We had to ask but it came through quickly.

I was hoping for some sage advise from others on what to do as well. I have had only the 1 viewing since it went live. What am I (read that as the EA) doing wrong? :-(

In that case - I think it looks lovely - love the bright colours and open plan space on the ground floor. I may think about removing the sofa bed in the pink room as it makes it look smaller.
The photo of the front of the house is good, but I suppose the style of house may not be for everyone and the garden looks a really decent size.
Have you done much work to it as the price since you bought in 2010 is £335k increase which seems a pretty big increase.
How does the price compare to similar properties in the area?

I would honestly advise you to whitewash the whole house - the colours are really garish and clashing. And remove all the rugs. I know you are supposed to look past the decor when house hunting but I missed lovely aspects of your house such as the floors, tiles and kitchen as I was wondering why on earth you had turquoise and yellow in one room and dark purple with red chairs in another, etc. It could be a lovely house but the colours cheapen it.

I'd also paint everything white, get some trade emulsion and go for it. It could be a lovely hose, but I can't see past the clashing colours, sorry!

It's a lovely house but I'm slightly aghast at how much it now costs to buy a house in Royston. If people aren't looking it's generally because the house is over priced.

Hmm - the colours are a bit nursery school, but it's usually down to price if you aren't getting viewings. And get the EA to remove the words 'deceptively spacious' from the blurb: they do not mean bigger than you might think, they mean small, but looks/feels bigger. Completely irrelevant imo as it's actually a pretty large house.

Had a quick look at the market info on rightmove and whilst I know that can only tell you so much. You're currently on at £125k more than the most similar sized property that has gone under offer.

I agree with toning down the colour and possibly a bit of decluttering. I admire the collection of drink in the dining room!
To tone down a deep turquoise wall, I painted it jade white. it only needed one coat because the darker tone underneath blended through.
Perhaps paler tones of the same colour might do the trick.

You need to ask for and listen to the EA's advice - it's in their interest to achieve a sale as that's what you are paying them to do. Family houses are generally in demand but at this market level particularly the price needs to be spot on - ask the EA for the best price guide for market comparables (if not already seen).

Sequence Group have form for over valuing to win instructions then chipping the price down to get a sale - standard corporate strategy.

A minor point but I'm always suspicious when the first photo on rightmove is a room rather than a picture of the house itself, puts me off a bit

I know I know! Its really bright colours and not to everyone's taste but i do love strong colours and will take the chance I guess.
I think white/neutral colours are nice enough but we still have to live in the house while its been sold so no to the neutrals I am afraid :-)

Houses in Royston tend to sell quite quickly especially with the emphasis on the fast train links into royston.

I am not asking fro much really, not even a sale or offer, just a few more viewings! I think another 2 weeks of this and I will pull the listing from the current agent. :-(

The colours aren't just strong but also clashing and mismatched. If you sell quickly you would only have to put up with neutral colours for a few months. I wouldn't buy the house as I know I would have to decorate the entire place straight away. The colours take the focus away from your beautiful floors and features.

its beautiful ... but very busy colour-wise! i also think it needs white paint everywhere. you have beautiful fittings/tiles/units/space etc but all i can see are your bold "statement/accent colour" walls.

i do agree that your house could be priced a good deal more than a similar house in the area. in my area, a semi could cost, say 325k and a similar house in an area 0.75 of a mile away would cost 245k. play it by ear though, a reduction of 15k could get viewers though!

Back to your original question, on Zoopla you can see the views at the bottom of the property description bit on the mobile site or on the right hand side column on the desktop site. I haven't noticed on rightmove.

If you want top dollar for your house and to sell quickly you really need it to have broad appeal. A lot of potential buyers cannot see past clutter and decor they dislike. If they do they will often discount their offers.

If you want more viewings I think you'll have to reduce the price. Almost doubling in price in seven years doesn't sound like an accurate reflection of the market, especially when most people looking will want to paint out the bold colours. Not me I think they are cheerful and fab!

Your home is lovely but I agree with pps about the garish colours and children's toys.

I had bright colours in the two dc's rooms but neutral everywhere else and toys only in their rooms. It's hard when you are actually living there to maintain the tidying and decluttering but it's essential.

There are a few houses in my area which are suitable for me in size and location but I have not viewed them because of the over the top decor which is a matter of personal taste. I would prefer somewhere old-fashioned but neutral as at least you can move in without feeling you have to redecorate the whole place.

I figured the estate agent didn't really matter when my house was on the market as sales are from online listings these days so as long as your photos are good, what else does an agent need to do to market a property?

You want to ignore advice about the colour scheme, that's up to you, but I think that's the issue, not the agent.

The house is in good condition so will appeal to the 'move in and do nothing' crowd rather than the 'fixer upper' types. But lots of painting to do means it will put a lot of people off. I like a strong colour on maybe one wall with white elsewhere but tbh your house is headache inducing.

The house we live in was painted lime green in lots of places when it first went on the market. A fresh paint of white paint and a drop in price and they finally got viewers.

The layout of your house is a bit off putting to me too. The sitting room must be a bit of a corridor as it looks like you need to go through that to get anywhere downstairs? Not much you can do about that though.
