Property mystery

Hello Mums-netters. We have our house on the market at present and are house hunting. I've spotted a home which I really like. The vendor is a mortgage broker and connected to the estate agents who are marketing the property. He bought it in July 2015 and has taken 18 months to refurbish it. I get the feeling it is a "show home" done up to sell and that he is not living in it...although he tells me he is living there and it was his intention to make it his permanent home. Also, when I do a search for property on line, it shows as being purchased in June 2015 and the again in July 2015 for just a minimal amount more. I'm wondering why? Does anyone have any ideas?

Does it show who the purchasers are?

Maybe he bought it in his own name and then transferred it to a company or vice versa?

...... or it's possible that he purchased in June 2015 and mortgaged/remortgaged shortly after that the increased amount was the value given to the Land Registry.

Yeah, I was thinking along those lines...a company / mortgage thing! I think I will just ask him. I think Ive got a right. No...it doesn't show name of purchasers.

I sold a house recently which on the land registry would have had something which looked quite odd like that. I and my siblings inherited a third of a house each......I technically bought it although I never actually paid anyone.

We just wanted the house in one name as it's easier for estate agents to deal with one person. It then went straight on the market and sold on the first day for 6k more than what I'd "bought" it for the previous week.

So march one year it was sold for x, then a few weeks later sold again for x+6k.
