What's fabulous about your kitchen?

Just that really. I need to renovate but not really sure what to consider. I know I need as much storage as possible and a dishwasher but not sure about materials or what's available in terms of magical touches to make life easier and the kitchen more exciting. Just read on here about Appliance Garages, liking the idea of hiding everything away but still being accessible whilst avoiding built-ins. Please inspire me.

Things I love:

Island unit
Deep/wide pull out drawers
Pull out larder racks
Double sink and butler sink

But the all time best thing ever is a double drawer dishwasher

Hi all - I'm joining! Work on our side return/kitchen extension hopefully starting in June! Some great tips on here. I wanted to ask you all about extractors - it's something I have so far managed to overlook! I will want one that sits in side a kitchen cupboard; don't want one that's a feature. Has anyone any tips on good ones or where to look?

We finished our kitchen 18 months ago after a big extension. I love the massive island (1.2 by 1.9m) which is all worktop space and has seating underneath on one side. Quartz worktops are definitely worth the money - look great, easy to clean and indestructible. Big American fridge freezer with ice machine. Pan drawers are brilliant for crockery. Larder unit is also good. Lots of plug sockets including a pull up one in island.

BiscuitTinClarabel We'll need to agree to disagree as I think the marble effect quartz is brilliant. Bomb proof, doesn't always need wiping and polishing (unlike the dark granite I had a few years ago) and looks lovely. For any granite/quartz/hobs etc I find micro cloths are my best friend.

There are loads of lovely ideas here. I had to forgo the wine fridge as I thought I would be short on space. I wasn't as it transpired - boo. Also decided against the Qooker as the budget was starting to go through the roof. I do have hot water tap envy though.
