Yes was full app to TSB...heard today that survey is booked for Monday 13th!

Presumably all is OK subject to survey then? 20 years ago when I was a mortgage adviser, they often instructed the survey straight away regardless, but things might have changed...

I'm waiting on one- hoping to be like the OP and relieved very soon... we had the valuation on Thursday, they contacted needing some of my DH's work details Friday so I'm hoping it won't be much longer. I'm really paranoid they will turn us down!

Notyetthere · 14/02/2017 14:45

We are hoping to apply for one of their switch fixed products next month. They seem to be competitive rates. We will do the online application (unadvised). Hope it doesn't take too long.

MummyPigLovesAppleSauce · 14/02/2017 18:54

Got it! Approved today! Grin
Hooray!

happyfam4 · 14/02/2017 19:25

Now Nationwide is asking proof of address :( this waiting is killing me and my buyer wants to exchange for the 24th March sigh

MummyPigLovesAppleSauce - congrats!!

Happyfam you can email proof of address over to [email protected]

Download a scanner app onto your smart phone. It'll scan as a pdf file, attach it to an email and fire it over. It'll be checked and uploaded within 48 hours.

I applied for a Nationwide mortgage on 24th Jan. I did it alone, online. Cuz I'm an 'ard nut Grin

Honestly the waiting almost gave me a nervous breakdown.

Had the offer through the post on Monday, so now just waiting for a competion date (it's a remortgage not a move).

Send a scan of your driving licence and all will be well. I promise.

happyfam4 · 14/02/2017 20:03

monkeyfacegrace - Congrats! Thank you for the encouragement too. I sent my proof of address today so fingers cross offer soon x

We had a text from nationwide saying they're issuing an offer. Does this mean it's for the amount we offered for the house?

happyfam4 · 15/02/2017 08:37

Rickandmorty - well done and congrats! Hoping we will get good news today too.

Can you call Nationwide about the amount?

OP posts:
monkeyfacegrace · 15/02/2017 13:28

Yes rick it will be. Any change in term or amount would have been discussed with you prior.

BillyDaveysDaughter · 15/02/2017 16:05

I got my offer yesterday too Grin

Rickandmorty · 15/02/2017 16:08

Thanks monkey. I am being such a first time buyer about everything, I think I am annoying my mortgage broker!

happyfam4 · 15/02/2017 16:16

BillyDaveysDaughter- congrats!! My broker said everything has been accepted so waiting for the final nod. Very nervous :(

I'm relieved that bit is over, but unfortunately my solicitor hasnt even started. Long story but I hope he pulls his finger out soon Hmm

monkeyfacegrace · 15/02/2017 17:04

My solicitor is a fucking arse, and has given me a competion date of next Thursday. I'm sure she could do it sooner, but after the shitogram I emailed her earlier, I think she's been a pain on purpose Grin

And don't worry about annoying your mortgage broker. That's what they are there for. I bloody wish I'd used one, it's hard doing it alone

Herschellmum · 15/02/2017 17:40

We had our mortgage in principle in a few hours, then survey paid the next day, they went out the next working day and submitted and approved full mortgage that same day, we had the paper work 2 days later. Complete in the next few weeks. All with Halifax, they had a much higher interest rate than others we looked at, but our broker told us about how quick they were and it worked out at less than £100 a year difference overall as it's quite a small mortgage, so we just went with it.

So if it doesn't work out, Halifax are mega quick.

Rickandmorty · 15/02/2017 19:41

My solicitors aren't doing anything. We are with countrywide (kill me). Just agreed on them from the bank's suggestion and then after paying a first payment looked online and read the reviews. Good grief!

MummyPigLovesAppleSauce · 16/02/2017 22:59

Ours don't seem to be doing anything either! We were so nervous about the mortgage that we forgot about what a ball ache the solicitors are ( we are with O'Neil Patient and they are dire according to reviews).
Does anyone know how long it usually takes for them to arrange completion? Are we looking at weeks or months?

happyfam4 · 17/02/2017 18:16

Mortgage offer ISSUED and the full amount - phew :)

Have a good weekend all :)

I have recently had a newborn baby girl 3 weeks ago and me and her dad are in the process of buying a house through nationwide, very stressful with a newborn. It’s had its valuation and was going to the underwriter, it was just waiting for one more document to be approved(our proof od deposit) on Friday all looked good on the app however Iv just tried to check for on update on the app it says no active application with my email. Someone please help has it been declined?😫
Thank you very much in advance xx
