Does anyone have a green/planted driveway?

I'm thinking of doing a driveway like this picture, using open pavers and hardy, low-growing plants like chamomile or thyme. Just wondering if anyone has dos and don'ts for me to save a lot of trial and error.

I don't, but I'm watching with interest as would like something like this too. I'd be worried about maintenance in terms of weeding!

I'm hoping that if I use something quite vigorous rather than grass then the weeds will be crowded out. I think moss would be gorgeous, but I don't know if it would stand up to the wear and tear, if it's planted quite low inside the pavers it might ok though. Other things I've seen recommended have been Dutch white clover, a low-growing thyme and chamomile.

No experience with the plants as driveway yet but I can talk you about the plants.

Moss is not a serious contender as it does not stand up to traffic at all. What you want is a resilient plant that can recover easily.

Creeping thym: I doubt it could survive such heavy traffic and weeds will take over too easily anyway.

Chamomile: no idea never planted this

Clover: on the weed aspect clover is fantastic: hides and/or smothers most of them, survives well in dry soils (very little soil in those pockets).
Not as resilient as grass(but I don't think any plant beats grass in that category), but recovers well.

However if you want to see the concrete pattern you will have a best bet with grass or mini clover mowed every 6 weeks (more or less)
