Awkward lounge shape

See pics - not to scale Blush

I'm really struggling to fit furniture into my lounge, due to its shape and awkward doors. First pic shows basic room shape, 2nd pic shows how furniture is set out at the moment but as the room isn't huge, it feels really cluttered.

For reference - purple = sofas, yellow = table (in bay window but not really enough room for chairs), red = fire, brown = sideboard, silver = radiator.

The wall one sofa is against is the longest straight wall at 190cm, therefore can only fit a 2 seater meaning we need further seating, hence the 2nd sofa currently stuck in the middle of the room and the door opens on to it. Other opening is door in to kitchen. I can't knock walls down, remove doors etc so I think I may be asking for a miracle but does anyone have any idea what I could do please?

What about this? If you had it armless at both ends it would be 187cm each way.

I think I would sacrifice the bay to sofa in that room. You could put a cabinet thing behind the sofa and have a lamp/ plant etc on it.

More super diagrams via paint Grin

The first - having 2 chairs with coffee table in bay, table with bench seating in alcove. But. With the table there means that I can't put shelves/cupboards on the bottom of the alcove as table won't fit - would have to be just higher up wall shelves.

2nd pic shows bench seating in bay (would kallax look odd if it wasn't pushed right back against the wall as the gap is only 110cm there?) with either small sofa seating (like the one Art linked to or 2 chairs. This way I can have the full alcove cupboard with a wing chair and floor lamp in corner.

I think I'm preferring the 2nd, but just worryingbits going to look a bit much Confused

The Kallax is £30. We've taken a saw to ours so it's an exact fit (we decided it was a gamble worth taking) - just over three bays wide with a tiny bit spare either side. It's enclosed either side so can't go anywhere - in the same way yours would be.

That sounds nice Miaow. I often think a living room looks more polished with sofa in the middle rather than jammed up against the wall, I can just never figure out how to make it work in my house. So OP your "sofa stuck in the middle" would not be a negative to me. Any possibility of having a left handed L set forward, similar to current position of big sofa but with a short and flat, backless extension butting forward across the bay. So you still have sightline across into the bay and you remove the right hand sofa that's awkwardly cutting across the fire.

I'm struggling a bit with exactly which door is which and which sofa is fouling doors so apologies if this is a really stupid suggestion.

Miaow I feel a trip to IKEA is on the cards 😀

Billy the door from the hall into lounge opens on to the back of the sofa across the floor in the lounge. I tried the sofa across the front of the bay but it just wasted too much space.

I'm thinking about the possibility of having a L shaped sofa jutting out of the bay, one similar to Sister linked to above. My problem is I'm hopeless at visualising!

Fair enough. I will stop failing trying to be helpful.

I agree on archways - seem like a good idea until you realise there aren't enough walls to put your stuff against. I guess bays are similar.

I appreciate all the help thanks, you've all given me some great ideas to be thinking about Flowers
