Anyone replaced their bath with a shower cubicle in main bathroom?

If you have, any regrets?

With six of us in the house with only two bathrooms (shower cubicle in downstairs cloakroom) we are seriously considering this option.

No one has baths in this house, ever. We all shower once or twice a day and having planned it out to scale it means I can some nice modual furniture with storage in there.

Thanks x

Us! But planning to live here until we are old & infirm & walk in shower will help us to staySmile. Quite happy for it to suit us and several teenagers for the foreseeable, since we are livin here now, not a future buyer.

Definitely do what suits you best now and don't worry about the impact on selling. When we bought our house it didn't have a bath and the only thing that would have stopped me from buying was if there was no space to put one in.

I am lucky in that I have a walk in shower and a free-standing bath in my bathroom in the UK, so I am sorted for the foreseeable future (when I finally get back to the UK to use them!).

Thanks all for your replies, I have been getting some ideas online and measuring up ready for quotes. If we go ahead I will post full project details and some before, during and after pics.

Just one of the jobs to do in our house this year, the priority being a new heating system. I am planning to take full advantage of having the plumber booked in so that I can get both bathrooms done.

Once again, many thanks x
