Is it true you have to give 6 day notification to change your toilet?

we have a horrible pink 70's one - need to have a new loo!

cant we just nip to BnQ and slip a new one in?

Snigger, someone's having you on! You can change your toilet whenever you want.
Who were you supposed to notify?

fuxxake · 24/12/2016 21:02

Well at least something's made me laugh Grin

insancerre · 24/12/2016 21:02

Eh?
Who do you notify?

bigredboat · 24/12/2016 21:02

Who are you supposed to notify? We have replaced 3 toilets in houses we have lived in and never told anyone Confused

johnd2 · 24/12/2016 21:02

Yes even if you want to notify building control you can start work the next day. But I've no idea who actually notifies and pays the fee rather then just cracking on.

Hoppinggreen · 24/12/2016 21:45

You must send the paperwork in triplicate to The Ministry of Toilets.

Someone is yanking your chain...

You need building regs approval for a new toilet if it's discharging from a different place ie a new soil pipe. But not if you are replacing like for like.

OnePlanOnHouzz · 26/12/2016 18:58

Do you live in a multi home building ? As there may be a clause in your lease that requires notice to the other tenants/ owners in the building incase of a problem ?!

Otherwise I've not heard of a six day notice period either !

ChishandFips33 · 27/12/2016 02:08

Well we've broken that rule a couple of times!
Never heard of it - which book are you referencing/is it current/UK?
