OMG!

I guess to show the work required. It's a big house, seven bedroom in London, and I'm sure the price tag reflects the fact it's development. There is no point not showing it, as folks will see it on viewing anyways.

Surely a floorpan would be fine, given the state of it, but I do like that marble fire place and the cornicing.

To be honest, the mess inside doesn't really matter if it's being sold as a development. It'd all be gutted anyway so it doesn't matter if it was half or twice as bad, really.

I think the house looks a bit small from the front, tbh. Not 7 beds, but you'd lose some for bathrooms/ dressing rooms/stealing space for bigger rooms. I suppose the interior pics are to show high ceilings, remaining period features and to get the creative juices flowing.

It's in considerably better nick than my family home was when my parents bought it Grin

Lots of original features though. It's a shame they're advertising to developers.

The mess is all rather sad though, to me. There is a similar large 'hoarder house' for sale in my street, a single, older man lives in it. So far he has filled 6 skips & 2 long wheelbase transit vans with accumulated stuff. The skips just keep on coming (road of large Victorian townhouses). I think the estate agents have told him that there's no chance he'll get a decent price and/or much interest unless he has a clear out.

YelloDraw · 06/12/2016 14:21

Its been divided up into shit loads of bedsits, with hardly any bathrooms. Sad.

It will make a lovely house with some cash spent on it.

mintthins · 06/12/2016 14:24

That will be a gorgeous house when it has had some money spent on it!

Riderontheswarm · 07/12/2016 09:53

1.5 million! What on earth?

Crumbelina · 08/12/2016 07:51

I love it! Our house was in a similar state when we bought it. We're 2 years into a self-renovation project and (from bitter experience) I would recommend that only developers go near it!

The brochure shows that it has original features and great ceiling heights. It shows that it has a gas connection (an important consideration when taking on a doer-upper). It shows that the garden is flat and a reasonable size for a Victorian terrace. Hopefully, from the EA's point of view, it will put off people who think that "development opportunity" means that it just needs a new kitchen and bathroom and a bit of Farrow & Balling.
