Induction cooker that wont make me lose the will to live..

New house has awful kitchen with a space for a cooker, 60 cm. Most look awful tho but no space at moment for a wider one which appear nicer, less dated.

Want induction as leaving a gas hob behind here. Any recommendations?

I have a large Neff induction hob and love it. Having previously had gas that was a nightmare to clean was main reason I chose induction in my newish kitchen extension (on recommendation of a friend). I just wipe it over with a cloth and buff with a tea towel to maintain the shine - in fact exactly the same treatment as my granite worktop gets.
The beeping can be annoying if you splash water on the controls (just wipe it off with a tea towel) and if you put non induction friendly items on the hob (agree with poster above, just use a trivet)...but you learn to know what makes your induction hob unhappy and live with it.
Overall I have no regrets.

If you cook on induction with the mindset that it's the same responsiveness as gas - you shouldn't go too far wrong - it's when you assume it will be slow to heat up and slow to cool down, like a ceramic hob, that things can go horribly wrong !
That John Lewis one looks good !

We moved from gas to induction. Husband was intent on ripping the hob out and fitting a new one straight away.

Until we used it. It is AMAZING. We have a Neff and we love it. So easy to clean, it is extra worktop space when not in use, things cook so much quicker but because the heat is more accurate, you don't find things over-boiling/burning.

We are both converts to induction and wouldn't go back to gas now.

Oooh timely thread.
We are thinking of changing to induction.
Currently have a britannia range gas cooker that is quite old, 13yrs and doors have fallen off.
Would love either a rangemaster or stoves induction range.
I see the rangemaster is popular..anyone have a stoves ?

I've got a falcon ( replacement for a gas topped Britannia that was on lpg) totally recommend it !

I had induction, moved house - had gas - changed to induction. Neff even do them now without the fiddly knobs (to lose) and just touch controls. Also look at the flex induction which as well as the rings has blocked off areas so you can use large pans such as fish kettles etc rather than just circular pans.

It is much easier to control and less dangerous and easier to clean/

Mine is a Touch control AEG one. I love it - so fast to use and ridiculously easy to clean as it has no knobs!!!

Just one thing to point out. Nobody with a pacemaker can use them - just in case it's relevant to anyone.

twococker I had no idea, I was about to be a bit worried about my FIL using it when at ours, then remembered he's never lifted a finger whilst at home let alone when visiting!!!
If it is true surely it would need to be better advertised as a risk?

When we had our kitchen fitted we had to sign to say they'd explained about it.

Induction here as we have no gas and there's no going back

As long as you have good quality heavy stainless steel based pans then you shouldn't go far wrong, we even managed to find decent quality induction friendly frying pans after a while and wouldn't change back to gas now

UsedToBeAPaxmanFan · 26/11/2016 21:33

Induction every time. It's amazing. Responsive, powerful and easy to clean.

I love my Neff induction - had it for many years and its just fab.
Cook from scratch every single day on it
