Heard a piece on the radio about this, and London fire brigade advising people not to use affected models. Manufacturers' advice is to use but not overnight or when you are out of the house.
Checked our dryer and we have an affected model - now 8 years old but working fine, never had any issues. Advice on Indesit website is to book an engineer's appointment for a repair, but there could be a long wait.
DH booked us in, then received an e-mail to say alternatively we could trade for a brand new dryer for £59, and they will take the old one away. This would be much quicker - delivery end October.
Was googling the models on offer at reduced price and they came us as ones that are included on the list of fire risks!
This seems bonkers to me - why would I replace my dryer with another risky one??
Do you think the models they are offering have had the repair/tweak. Just very unsure now.
