Kitchen Re-fit, how much did you pay?

My kitchen is 4m by 3m.

I'm having the old one pulled out

The ceiling taken down and replaced

Whole room plastered (including ceiling)

A new radiator

New electrics to new light and oven.

Floor leveled (not dug up and leveled, just some self-leveler put down)

Floor tiled

New kitchen fitted (base and wall units)

I've had a quote of £6K for it not including electrics. That seems very high. How much did you pay?

Could be about right - What are you supplying yourself? Kitchen units? Tiles? Also in central London will be a lot more than north east England.

6k seems a good price to me!

8k 10 years ago for kitchen with no appliances but 2k was wooden work tops. We found out afterwards that the same kitchen was in Howden's for 4k. So next time I'll be buying g it and getting a carpenter to fit it.

The plastering alone for the ceiling can be a fortune,I paid £800 for my front room to be skimmed.

Sorry but that sounds really reasonable. I paid £2000 to do similar and it was only so cheap because my dad did all the electrics, fitting, plumbing and tiling for free.

Good price considering all the other work.

We had a quote for ripping out the old one and fitting a new one only which was £1,200. So is there £4,800 difference between just ripping out and fitting a new one and what I want doing?

Sorry that sounds bolshy, I'm not being bolshy, just asking.

A guide I had for other work was that labour should cost you about £1,000- £1,200 per week of the job. It's a three week job.

Don't think that's bad to be honest. I'm about to pay 2k for only the electrics and plastering, so yours seems fairly reasonable.

Not a bad quote - I have just had a new kitchen - similar size to yours. Part of the ceiling was taken down and replaced, all electrics, tiling and fitting units (not flat-pack) some plumbing, and the fitting costs were approx. £5000. (I'm in the Southeast)

Your quote is similar to mine (kithchen 6m X 4m). However, ours also includes taking down a supporting wall and putting in an RSJ. We are in the Thames Valley, so quite an expensive area.
