Has anyone ever moved house? I need your help!

Hi all,

I was wondering if I can get some help! I'm currently starting to move house with myself and my 4 year old daughter.

I am also going to be writing a blog of my progress on our own since the father has left and how our move and new life is going!

Could you let me know if you have moved house, what you found difficult, what you did/did not know, what unexpected costs were involved, what you really wanted to find out etc...

All advice would be appreciated!

Everyone saying packers are worth it - why? Just cos they do it in WAY less time?

I was thinking it woudl be nice to pack myself and I could have a good clear out whilst I was doing it - or is that a stupid idea?

yello they come in and do it in a morning. You don't have to even think about it until packing day (apart from to make sure you've got everything you want separate) or live with boxes everywhere and usually their insurance covers anything that gets damaged.

Our packers disassembled furniture and will reassemble it in the new house.

I think I am leading towards paying for packing as well as moving - it feels like I don't have THAT much stuff but last time I thought that and was packing and packing and packing....

We didn't think we had that much either! When we saw how much of the lorry it filled we were amazed.
