It depends whether you can do some yourself.
First get a roofer to give you a quote for the roof because that looks like it might be where the problem is. If the whole roof needs doing it will be expensive. I think more that. £20,000 for that size of house. I looked at one thirty years ago and it would take £30,000 then to do the roof. No one could afford to do it and they knocked it down and built a housing estate. It had land.
You could get a kitchen for less than twenty thousand my friend had a joiner make her one for eight and believe me it was beautiful. She sold it two years later and the new people ripped it out and put one in from B&Q!
Painting and decorating could be done by you and tiling. I did mine. A builder friend said he'd give me a job. Love the tiled floor.
Montpelier is a lovely area. If I had to live in a city it would be Bristol, York or Edinburgh.
