Perfect hallway colour please, not Elephant's Breath or Mouse's scrotum

I really want to avoid grey and I'm not keen on yellow. It's a pretty big and bright hallway and landing. We are keeping the house colours all pretty understated and tonal.

My taste tends to be vintage, rustic, wishy washy colours. It would be in a matt crown scrubbable paint but they can colour match any swatch.

Any thoughts?

I will be getting the local paint trade centre to colour match a F&B sample and then we've used Crown Matt scrubbable paint elsewhere in the house and it's great. It's not always bang on but it's usually close.

I looked through the wallpaper sample book while I was there and got them to scan one of the papers that I loved. It's turned out a really warm white shade that we've decided to use in the kitchen. Using wallpapers as samples for paint matches seems to give some really fab results.

Ggirl Mylands is fab, had it in my kitchen covers really well lovely thick consistency & you can scrub the feck out of p, brilliant stuff.

dontcallmelen good to know , but I have tested the two pale blue shades they sent and I'm not keen on the colours. Shame they don't have more colours. Walpole too white and Morning Blue too blue.

Still keen on LG delicate blue ,now whether to go for the intelligent matt or not.

The intelligent matt is fantastic- very matt but scrubbable. I love the LG paint- excellent quality, goes on very well and you need less than you think you do (or do in other brands).

Fayrazzled thanks , I have used the absolute matt in out lounge and love the paint , was slightly concerned the intelligent would have a sheen to it that I don't want.

Little Greene do an Intelligent Matt Emulsion (suitable for outdoors tho' I've only used it inside). So benefits of washable but in a flat matt finish.

Their Slaked Lime is perfect - looks cream against grey but no tinge of yellow - my pet hate with most creams are that they are too yellow. Comes in various shades - light, mid, dark etc. I have a 50:50 mix of light and mid slaked lime in my hallway which has south and north facing walls.

Wild wood by crown - warm beigey shade which is looking fab in my hall!
