And obviously need to replace it. It is a single glazed, wooden frame. How much do you reckon it'll cost to fix?!

Depends on size. Ours recently cost £300 Sad

It's one pane of a window that is spilt into 4/ like this one (not the actual window!). My foolish DS knows caked the football too hard and it ricocheted off the wall Sad

Ours is a lot bigger than that; but because it was broken at night the glazier just secured it with wood and came back with the glass the next day.
£150 charge per visit, so I imagine the call out charge is the main expense?
Hopefully you'll get away with one call out...

Sadit's on the ground floor and needs securing tonight so x2 call out fees. Thanks flogging.

If it's any more might be worth claiming off your public liability section of your household contents policy

elephantoverthehill · 24/07/2016 21:50

Do you not have any hardboard, thin plywood you can make a temporary repair with tonight. A back of a cheap wardrobe would be cheaper than a call out glazier, then sort it in the morning?

As mentioned earlier, the price would depend on the size. ours cost somewhere between £200 and £300. Also, I agree with charleybarley, be careful with your replacement. you don't want to end up replacing it twice.

krazipan · 26/07/2016 06:54

My neighbours called someone out to secure it. If it been my house I would have boarded it up myself. I think it's going to be £240 to replace. Thanks for the advice.
