In about 15 minutes on BBC ONE. Wish me luck. We were under offer but the purchaser lost his sale, so I'm really hoping this is good publicity...

Love the bathroom, but the bedrooms being 2 up & 2 down wouldn't work for me.

Be interested to know why you're struggling to sell!

T1mum3 · 19/07/2016 15:34

Right, I'm going to fast forward through it to see if it was on. Promise this isn't an elaborate ruse to promote house on mumsnet!! Backingvocals - that's a very good point. The agents were supposed to update it (the garden looks great in summer) and we have lost momentum with this sale falling through.

diddl - I think the market has been really quiet, then the offer we did have took it off the market at a time when it would have been more likely to sell :( It is unusual in the layout and I think that puts people off. It's a great area but a little bit further out than than the traditional commuter market (Horsham station is 55 minutes into London) so I guess that limits the appeal.

I'd need to know that not all your toilets were that high (plus I don't have that kind of money).

Owllady · 19/07/2016 15:41

It's a lovely house

2nds · 19/07/2016 15:41

Was it on? I will watch it later on :-) I love that show but I always love the excuses they give for not liking a place. They'll walk into a massive kitchen and say it's tiny lol that kinda thing.

T1mum3 · 19/07/2016 15:43

Sorry guys. I've flicked through and it isn't on this one (it's a slightly different bit of West Sussex). Should genuinely be on in the next month or so, so I will update when it is.

Also think you need some better pictures - Picture 4 in particular is a total waste, and having those curtains up over the door implies that it is drafty and cold. I also don't like when they don't label what room the photos are of. I'm a fuss pants clearly :) Beautiful house though.

2nds · 19/07/2016 15:46

I just looked at your home it's lovely. I'm not buying as I don't have that sort of money, but I see there's slanted ceilings and beams I'm 6ft so I'd likely be put off by that and the beams, however I think it might help you if you state how high the ceilings are somewhere on your description.

moosechops · 19/07/2016 15:47

Oh I seen this house and was saying to OH that its my 'dream house' I hope you sell!

T1mum3 · 19/07/2016 15:47

Imperialblether - the programme contacted the agent then sent a scout to recce it, then they just came back to us and asked permission etc. This was late April. We stayed away while they did it all.

Almost30 - I really wanted to get a cleaner in but my son was in hospital at the time so I'm really hoping the dust marks don't show up!! I did pay someone to mow the lawn though. They did the background shots at the same time as doing the recce, then they came back with the presenter and the prospective buyers the next day to do the rest, so all over really quickly. The production team were "terribly nice" and very complimentary, but there is always the fear that it's the quirky one designed to make the other ones look good....

BBC will probably contact you to let you know when it is due to be on.
I was on Flog It a couple of years ago and they rang to warn me.

T1mum3 · 19/07/2016 15:52

Good feedback here. 2nds, that's actually a really good point. Despite having beams the ceiling are actually really high (my 6 foot five brother doesn't have to stoop at all) but that's probably not at all clear from the photos.

Moosechops - thank you!! That is a lovely thing to say

I was on a hospital show and I was called a few days before it aired.

T1mum you do know the BBC can send you a copy of the programme if you request one?

T1mum3 · 19/07/2016 15:54

2nds - I didn't know that! I will contact the production team.

BTW if it turns out that the viewing couple really liked your property you could perhaps upload the footage of them viewing the house onto YouTube and ask maybe link that to your property's rightmove page?

2nds · 19/07/2016 15:58

Yeah I have my hospital show on dvd. We are in two episodes and the BBC sent us a copy of both episodes, any other copies we want in the future we must pay for.

Nepotism · 19/07/2016 16:01

It's beautiful and I think it's a lot of house for the money (fellow southerner).

Rightmove lists the date it went on the market.

T1mum3 · 19/07/2016 16:03

Great idea 2nds.

Thank you Nepotism.

It's absolutely stunning. Well out of my budget, unfortunately. Good luck.

ButteredToastAndStrawberryJam · 19/07/2016 16:17

Very nice house. You are very tidy. My feet would be dangling sitting on the toilet, I'm short, the toilet roll could do with a bracket/holder on the wall.

Teddy1970 · 19/07/2016 17:21

I love your house OP, I've seen it many times whilst having a look on Rightmove! (I live in West Sussex ) I think the price is very reasonable considering where it is. I hope you find a buyer soon,

T1mum3 · 19/07/2016 20:09

Oh thank you Teddy1970! It is a really nice lane.

ButteredToast - thank you also. The loo featured is actually in the children's bathroom and their legs dangle anyway so I'd never thought of it for an adult! Other loos at less silly heights are available!

Absolutely lovely. Envy How can you bear to leave it, OP? Sad
