A few months ago I posted asking for advice on how to make my hideous porch less ugly. I was thinking about pulling down and re-building. Lots of people pointed out that the garage was the biggest eyesore.

Taking the comments on board, I pulled the garage down (and re-sited the crap into a garden shed. This made off road parking as the garage had been too small to fit a car in! I've had windows done, front steps done and had it painted and I thought you might be interested to see the difference.

I couldn't be more over the moon with how it's turned out, so thank you for all the advice. If I hadn't posted on MN I would have spent thousands re-doing the porch only to still gave the hideous ugly garage right in front of the house

Wow! I posted on your original thread under a different username. I'm so pleased you came back to show us the outcome - and what an outcome! Well done - it looks fantastic!

WeatherwaxOrOgg · 18/07/2016 07:54

Haha - I skim read your post and clicked on the first pic and was thinking ... what's wrong with that, it looks really nice!!! I then looked at the other pics and thought hmm they look totally different from different angles ... I was thinking how awful the last pic looked compared to the first lol. It took a few minutes to register!! Grin

It looks fantastic now - wow well done and thanks for the pics, I really love successful before/afters :)

Really lovely now!

Snog · 18/07/2016 08:02

whois · 18/07/2016 10:22

I didn't see the before thread... but the 'now' looks beautiful.

Stillunexpected · 18/07/2016 11:02

That looks gorgeous! Congratulations!

EnriqueTheRingBearingLizard · 18/07/2016 12:51

That's absolutely fantastic, no wonder you're so pleased OP. I posted on your first thread and it just shows how little storage the garage was giving you considering how much space it was taking up and blocking the cottage.

It's a really great job, thanks for coming back and updating.

LitterBoxProject · 18/07/2016 13:50

That looks fantastic, such a massive improvement!

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 18/07/2016 13:55

Amazing how much difference the style of windows makes.
Before it was an ugly 50/60s box. Now it looks like a nicely renovated period cottage.

bilbodog · 18/07/2016 14:59

Wow - what a transformation! The windows are beautiful and having them green looks fab. Sends pat on back!!

Jubaloo442 · 19/07/2016 06:33

Looks brilliant, I thought the first pic was 'before' and thought I had really poor taste as it looks beautiful. But seeing the third, it's even lovelier!

TheOddity · 19/07/2016 06:45

You have made a massive difference, you have great taste. Well done!
