Fit a toilet under the stairs?

Is this realistic?

The house I've moved to is very small and I would like an additional toilet downstairs.

The space under the stairs is currently used for storage. It's not very big but would fit a toilet and a small sink.

Any views would be appreciated!

I guess it depends on the space and position of pipes although saniflo is always a possibility. Sounds like a good idea if doable.

I need to find a really mini basin for a very small downstairs loo so hands don't get washed in the kitchen sink.

My in laws have done this. It is tight but it is handy with the grandchildren and elderly members of the family.

My friend has just done this. It's only a small space but she's fitted in a loo & a basin. She's also put a small window in for ventilation.

Our house has one, it was already here when we moved in. Our stairs have two 90 degree turns so there is a reasonable space. The plumbing sits under the stairs so not in the actual room. It's a toilet and small sink but useful!

We have on a straight stair case. But it had to jut out two feet into the next room to be a useable size. Depends on how you do it, our could have possible fit better with the loo not facing the door

Have you seen the toilets with the sink in the cistern?

We do, traditional 1930s semi - stairs go up and then turn for about 3 more steps. Its very small but I would not be without it, its brilliantly handy. I think its literally big enough for a toilet and a small sink. But what more do you need?!

I viewed a property with a sink on top of the toilet. This might be something to look at

My friend has one - its good as there was no way else to get in a sink (even a tiny one) but the sink is a bit ackward to use so it is best for a little wash and then a good proper old scrub later.

We are also about to do this in our new cottage. Fortunately the pipe work is already there, as is a window. Our problem is the consumer unit is situated under the stairs and the space stores the Hoover etc. the hallway is very narrow.

We are looking at building on a porch to accommodate a cupboard to store the electrics, shoes and Hoover. Nothing is ever simple!

Hi - We would like to do the same i.e. fit a toilet under the stairs in our Victorian house. The space is currently a cupboard which gives access to the the cellar. It is not next to an exterior wall so it's impossible to have external ventilation. Also, to connect to the external waste mean tunneling from the new toilet under the kitchen floor to get to it.

Anyone know if these issues are solveable?
