I really like that and the grounds are beautiful.

propp0rn · 07/06/2016 22:03

The big 'lily' on the wall in pic 6 is a clue too!

Loving this thread. Love a bit of property porn and celebrity property porn is even better! Never would have got these right on through the key hole! How do we know these are Lily's and cilla's?

VenusRising · 08/06/2016 00:39

Oh no!
Looks like a retirement home, or a vicarage, or somewhere miss Marple would find a poor strangled parlour maid.

Beams put me off also. Just think of the noise if they all fell down. They cut up a room too.

I like the topiary.

But I don't blame her for getting divorced if that's his taste.

ReginaTheVelociraptor · 08/06/2016 00:42

Almost my dream house (kitchen needs sorting). If only!

seasidesally · 08/06/2016 20:34

Cilla's house was in the DM yesterday

wowfudge · 08/06/2016 23:04

Lily Allen's house has a huge mural or mosaic with 'Lily' in the middle visible in one of the photos. I think one of the pp said it has been featured in a homes magazine in the past too.

SaveSomeSpendSome · 08/06/2016 23:10

I dont believe this is her house. Why on earth would a young woman have a house that looks like something from the 1950s?

VioletBam · 09/06/2016 02:47

Save are you kidding me? Confused SO many women in their teens and twenties would LOVE this house. I would have and still would...my niece is 22 and would love it. Do you think they all love contemporary styles because they're young?

FabFiveFreddie · 09/06/2016 03:17

Crikey. Cilla's house has truly got it all Confused

Beautiful gardens though.

propp0rn · 09/06/2016 09:02

Save - parts of the house are actually from the 17th century, not even the 50s! ShockWinkGrin

OP posts:
midsomermurderess · 09/06/2016 12:36

How do you know who it belongs to?

SaveSomeSpendSome · 09/06/2016 17:00

Nothing in her house is modern or up to date.

If you wanted to rent it then you would have to refurbish it up to date

JuanPotatoTwo · 09/06/2016 17:46

I prefer Cilla's. And that's something I never thought I'd say.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/06/2016 17:51

I love Cilla's conservatory!

irregularegular · 09/06/2016 17:52

I think it's just about perfect!

Though too isolated - I like to be able to walk places, so I think I might pass.

Why do people think it is grim? I'n not keen on the shiny yellow kitchen, but I think that it is the annexe?

irregularegular · 09/06/2016 17:54

Now Cilla's is a bit naff on the inside, but very easily changed.

irregularegular · 09/06/2016 17:55

I think the views and setting of Lily's are much lovelier.

thisonethennomore · 09/06/2016 18:02

Not keen on Cilla's , what's not to love about Lily's?

QuestaVecchiaCasa · 09/06/2016 18:13

I like both houses. I can't believe that people are saying they are fusty and outdated. The houses are both mature (especially Lily's) and it would be daft to try to impose some modern scheme upon them. There's nothing worse than those mutton dressed up as lamb houses that oligarchs in central London do.

Very often older houses can't have modern finishes because their construction means that they need to breathe. Lime plaster is needed for the walls and furnishing are then chosen to be sympathetic to the resulting surfaces. Beams can't just be taken out - they are part of the structure. If you cover them up that just results in lower ceilings. Where possible I would prefer homeowners to keep as much of the original property such as doors and flagstone floorings. Modern replacements are rarely of equivalent quality.

seasidesally · 09/06/2016 19:10

cant stand Lilly but see has great taste in locations and buildings

cant believe those that are super negative about it

mind you these threads seem to bring out the wanna be interior designer/property proffesional

seasidesally · 09/06/2016 19:11

forgot my Smile

BendydickCuminsnatch · 09/06/2016 19:16

Oooooooh I wonder where they're moving to and what it's like! How do you know it's Lily Allen's house? I like it but the low ceilings make me feel a bit claustro (which is weird as I grew up with V low ceilings).

BendydickCuminsnatch · 09/06/2016 19:17

Oh hah sorry RTFT Bends!

Dozer · 09/06/2016 19:22

Like the tree lined drive and party barn. DH and the DV would very much like a home like that: I would be worried about all that emptiness outdoors - burglars, wildlife and murderers!
