If you had your house rewired, how much did it cost?

We live in a large 4 bedroom semi in NW London and are getting some quotes for a full rewire.
The highest price has been £14K, the lowest £7K.
Can anyone who has had a similar property rewired give us an idea of what they paid?

Forgot to say it was in North East London so similarly priced area. House size was just over 2000 sq feet.

Thanks @fabulousathome for responding.
I actually want comparable quotes for the NW of England and not London, but thanks for your quote. Hopefully it should be lower than that.

Our flat was fully rewired and has concrete floors with parquet on top. The wires were channelled into the walls, then they go round the top of the walls concealed by coving. We could always have these channeled into the wall too at a later date.

I got quotes for this a couple of years ago, 3 bedroomed bungalow with upstairs dorma in West Yorks and the prices ranged from 2.5K - 5K. I've not had it done yet.
Get some more quotes off my builder OP.
