sound insulation

The house we've just bought has a sound insulated outhouse. This might be a silly question but does this mean it's heat insulated too? I have vague ideas of using it as a sleeping space when we have my family to stay but not sure if it will get too cold. Thanks in advance.

Probably not - sound insulation can mean that the owners installed a room within a room so that the sound had to travel through a wall and then a cavity and then another wall to get out and was "broken down" a bit. Or else it can be a matter of installing special sound-deadening layers but those won't necessarily provide any heat insulation. There is a chance that they used normal insulation (the stuff that you roll out in your loft or the rigid stuff that you put in between rafters) but it wouldn't have been very efficient at deadening sound - the only way to find out is to pull back one of the wall coverings and see.
