So, what's the verdict on your high gloss kitchen?

Looking for some user feedback please.

Would you have it again?
Does it scratch easily?
Is it a no-no with cats?
And finally do you think it will date quickly?

I love the look but I'm cautious for all the reasons stated above. This kitchen needs to last me a long time

Thank you

Most people seem very pleased with it then, that encouraging.

My cat question was because I often see paw prints up the current white matt utility cupboard doors where they scamper up to drink from the sink. I was wondering if that claw contact would scratch the gloss

Thank you all

We have cream gloss - small kitchen at the back of the house so I wanted it to be light and reflective, chose cream as I thought white might be a bit clinical. The floor is grey slate.

The kitchen was done last summer (John Lewis). I agonised over it as obviously it's a big expensive project, considered other finishes but chose cream gloss mainly for the reasons above. I love it. It looks gorgeous, and the kitchen looks so light compared to how it looked previously (light coloured wood).

Any kitchen you have will 'date', especially according to Ideal Home and the like - they have to keep coming up with 'New kitchen trends' 'the latest in kitchens' etc. I don't really care about that.

Have had no problems with chips, scratches, or fingermarks. (Two cats, two children and relaxed housekeeping standards ahem)

I think gloss is great as its wipeable. When my toddler drew on my cupboards with felt tip it wiped off easily. The finger prints aren't too bad and we don't have any scratches.
