Opinions please: sinks in bedrooms

We've just moved house and two of the bedrooms have sinks in them - one has a vanity unit. It's an Edwardian house and I don't know if there would have been sinks in those rooms originally or if they are a later addition (quite a grand house built for someone wealthy at the time). Anyway, I think they are pretty naff, but what does anyone else think?

We have a family bathroom on the same floor as these two bedrooms, a downstairs cloakroom with loo and there's an attic bedroom with ensuite so we are not short of facilities!

Not sure what you mean piglet John. A guest house is a b&b. Only the worst ones have a shared bathroom and sinks in rooms (or at least, this has been the case since about 1995 Grin) it's not snobbery to point this out

How is sharing a bathroom with many strangers on holiday related to a family needing to do so?

Out of fashion but oh so practical for teethbrushing etc, once the DC want privacy on the loo.

I think you'll manage with "only" 3 sinks plus the kitchen one though, and who wants to clean 6+ sinks?

Alwayseatinglollies, but in our house (many houses with ensuites I guess) the bathroom is as close, if not closer to where some of my children sleep than the ensuite is to me. One of the children's bedrooms practically shares a doorframe as the doors are side by side. Plus, as my boys become teenagers, I'm very grateful not to need to share a bathroom with them. Smile it's DD I feel sorry for! Grin
