Can you support your own planning permission?

Our neighbour has put in for planning permission. All the neighbours have objected online. He has commented online, insulting us, and supporting is own planning application. Is he allowed to?

You can certainly go to the planning committee meeting if you have submitted an application in order to support your proposals. Not sure about online. Maybe call your local councillor and ask - it might be easier than getting through to planning to ask them.

He basically said we were all lying! I didn't realise there was a meeting. Will ring the council. Thanks!

Can they? Yes if they like. Does it matter? Not a great deal! Planners are used to sitting in the middle of things like this, they're interested in the facts. Also only a very small percentage of applications will go to committee.

If he has been insulting you may be able to ask the planning office to remove the comments.
