F&B paint applied with a new 3" brush. Wall has three coats very carefully applied. At time of application it looked perfect. This morning it looks streaky. No previous colour 'grins' through, it just looks like I've missed bits when I know I checked carefully last night & it looked perfect. Can anyone help?

Oh yeah and totally agree with pp about frog tape - it's brilliant stuff!

Did you use the F&B primer? We've just had our living room painted Breakfast Room Green and even with the primer it took four coats and the walls were magnolia. Our painter painted with a roller from left to right rather than up down.

We found that having the heating on helped the viscosity of the paint and the painter commented that it was easier to paint with with the heating on.

Ok, have spoken to f&b & just finished repainting according to their instructions. I'll update later when it's dried whether it worked or not, so far it looks ok Smile

Tgey said the problem is calked 'flashing' & is common on v dark colours. Basically it's due to a number of factors: temperature/viscosity & speed. So they recommended I water down the paint by 10% & stir well, keep the room cooler with the windows open, apply very briskly with a roller only doing a rollers width at a time & immediately brush out only brushing lightly in one direction, crucially keeping a wet 'leading' edge at all times. I did all of this & it seems ok. Will update later when it's bone dry.

Any good?

Hi, I'm happy to update that the F&B suggestions worked! Smooth even coverage. Well worth remembering for the future.
