Advice on selling good quality "retro" furniture

I don't know where to ask this, so please direct me if somewhere else is more appropriate.
I'm trying to sell 2 large coffee tables that my parents bought when they got married in 1969. They're good quality, and the colours are now back in (they're orange and black, wood legs). They're quite substantial, and were not cheap when bought! I have no idea where to start. I could give them away if necessary, but I don't know if there is anyone out there who could make some use of them as good quality retro tables, that they are. Does anyone have any idea where I would start in trying to get rid of them, or finding out if there is any real value to them? Grateful for any advice. Otherwise, I'll give them to a local care home, but it seems a bit of shame that they won't be appreciated for what they are. TIA

You could try a specialist retailer of retro furniture or salvage type place. You won't kept top dollar as there has to be margin in it for them. Alternatively try eBay with a reserve or a buy it now option.

Can you post a photo (of the tables!) and a very rough idea of location (at county level - but obvs, you might not want to do that)? There might be a suitable auction house near you. Some deal with retro stuff of low value - obviously I'm not implying that your tables are necessarily low value, but sometimes expense at time of purchase is no guide...!

An awful lot of secondhand furniture of all ages doesn't go for much though.

E bay is your best bet. Do they have a makers mark? Or can you research the maker? If you can identify them to a specific maker then they might attract more interest .

Dealers specialising in mid=century furniture might be helpful.

Ebay, I'd suggest. Use words like 'mid-century modern' 'modernist' 'retro' 'atomic era', etc, to catch common search terms. Also the names of manufacturers such as G Plan, Ercol, etc.
