Anyone else living in a 'not quite finished' home?

We live in a lovely three bed semi and finally own after years of renting - we've moved 10 times in 5 years
But nearly every room has something unfinished or needing doing. I took the shower screen off recently and it's now sitting in our bedroom, as are myriad unhung pictures, a redundant changing table, and other crap. It's a big room fortunately. We don't seem to finish one room before doing some minor thing with another. I think renting for so long and moving so often has something to do with it as we don't really know how to make a home iykwim.

Anyone else with this affliction?!

Wow, lesserspotted you sound like my diy hero! We struggle to even decide on flatpack...

It's never occurred to me that finishing is an option! We've been here 5 years and we have skimped on doing skirtings etc and left a few bits completely untouched. By the time we "finish" the first pass, it'll be overdue time for the next round.

I grew up in a fairly big house and my mum constantly had tins of undercoat and topcoat on the go, to keep the skirting boards fresh. I don't have enough of a work ethic for that, but I still don't think we will ever "finish" as such.
