I've had roof blinds for about 11 years & they are looking a bit sad

So what can I replace them with cheaply?

I need warmth in the winter and reflection in the summer.....any ideas

My worry is that if I stick anything up the glue will degrade in the sun

& if I put a foil up will that cause the PVC to melt in reflected heat?

Yes we have. I don't remember the name of it as DH dealt with it but it is a reflective adhesive film. From the inside, the glass just looks a little tinted. From the outside, it is mirrored. It filters out most of the heat and UV but lets the light in. I have no idea if it helps in winter. Our conservatory has two radiators in it so it's not such an issue. But it helps enormously in the summer.

We used eclipse roof to do ours. Cost about £1200 for a 4 m square conservatory. Been brilliant for moderating the temperature.

DH added insulation to ours, in a similar style to the pics further down this thread (the one with the space blanket stuff)

He used plastic cladding instead of plasterboard as he was worried about the extra weight.

It has made a massive difference in summer and winter.

It looks good - we are a low height lean to - so I'll need to think a bit more
