It is a lovely chair - we got it from an antique shop in Rye, it was only £20.

Love yours fuckynell and surfer I think changing the flooring would be a great finishing touch, surfer!

This is ours. It's actually a secondary hallway from when the house was extended in 1924. The staircase is round the corner behind a door. Needs flagstones on the floor to finish it off. We also have a small 'vestibule' with quarry tiled floor, coat cupboard and access to d/s toilet.

Additional info - our house is odd in that the 'front' door into the house is at the back facing the garden and also on that elevation are a further three doors plus a set of French doors Directly off the lane you enter the garden through a locked, solid gate in a high wall attached to the house and follow the path round to the 'front' door! It's a bit fortress-like from the lane side

Second pic is our much missed hallway from a previous house. Rather dark, cluttered and OTT for most people, but we adored it......

Ours is decorated circa 1995 and we have the same radiator cover thingy as the op. I'm toying with putting modern radiators at the bottom of the stairs and by the loo andca bookcase and mirror where the rad is now. Flooring needs replacing too but will carry through into kitchen and family area so all a big job.

Heres mine (as of next week!) Can't wait!
