Labour costs for bathroom

I've been quoted £1700 labour costs for a bathroom installation. Assuming this is a 2 man job that I would expect to take 5 days to complete, doesn't this seem high? If I compare it to what I get paid for my job per day it is much higher.

Does that include the tiling? If so it's reasonable. Decent plumbers can be £30+ ph plus your best to get a price for the job instead of a daily rate, it's an incentive for them to crack on and get the job done but also covers you should it take longer if there are any issues. We just had ours replaced and it was only when they took out the old suite they saw what a mess the original house builder had made of the pipe work and flooring was nackered.

Get 2 or 3 differed quotes from local plumbers and compare before you commit.also best if they come recommended if u don't know anyone then maybe rated people or check a trade websites

Does that include building materials as well? I.e. Everything apart from the fittings and tiles? And disposing of the waste?

If so, That seems reasonable. You'll need a plumber, a tiler and an electrician.

Thanks all. Yes, this is just purely cost for labour & includes doing tiling. But everything else - supply of all required materials, waste disposal etc.. Is all extra.
I think at best part of £170 for a day's work I'm most definitely in the wrong job!

Find it so tricky to compare quotes as they're all set out a bit differently.

Just paid £700 for fitting including upto ceiling tiling. We had bought all our things from bathstore and getting a local guy to fit it. He said he does ceiling to floor and our bathroom is a state right now as you can see. Where abouts are you?

Well I got a quote for £1850 to replace my bathroom. It needs totally ripped out floor to ceiling tiles coming out and going in. We have purchased fittings and tiles, they provide building materials and dispose of debris.

Where in the country are you? It seems perfectly reasonable in the SE and cheap as chips in London.

Ah OK. Makes sense. We ripped out ours already before asking for quotes. And removed tiles... also in North West.

We are north east. Not sure I could face ripping stuff out myself. We also have floor to ceiling tiles and I'm a bit worried that knocking the tiles off may cause the wall to fall down. We suspect there may even be 2 layers of tiling, a la 60 minute makeover style. Urgh.

We had 3 layers of tiles!!!
