If I get round to posting individual rooms in my house (preparing for sale) would anyone be interested in coming on and bluntly telling me 'that bit looks shit, tidy it or fix it' Grin

I'm liking your summer house. Make sure that's looking gorgeous with vases of early daffs for estate agent photos and viewings.

Don't worry about painting until you have finished decluttering. One thing at a time, or you'll get overwhelmed.

Cam you fit a small table and couple of chairs in your kitchen to make it a "kitchen diner" maybe? Maybe where the butchers block is?

Dunno if it'd work but maybe worth
experimenting with, as it'd demonstrate it has room for a small table / breakfast bar.

We had the table in there. It's now in the conservatory which adjoins the kitchen. I've got a black bakers iron shelf thing I'm going to bring in to go next to the butchers block.

I'm going to experiment with putting some things on it. And then take photos.

Do you have white linen for the beds? When I was selling my flat I noticed 90% of all the pics had white linen on the beds. And it looked clean and fresh. The ones that didn't looked a bit crap. I bought a white duvet cover & pilot cases just for the pictures and they looked great.

I had white bed linen for viewing days too!

Yes, when we get to the bedroom you will notice the antique white linens everywhere Grin

Sorry just to be clear I mean 90% of the pics of other properties for sale online.

A table in a picture of a kitchen tells me it's big enough to be a kitchen diner.

A butcher's block tells me you're short if surface / counter space.

I'd go for the table personally.

The table just didn't look right. It's a 4 seater rectangle. And the dining room is two feet away.

I have an alternative - a small round table with two chairs?

I think the kitchen is a bit cold - needs a few pics or a clock on the walls

Try the round table.

I agree about the kitchen table. Eat in kitchen was really important to me and I almost didn't bother to view the house we bought as I thought you couldn't fit a table - you can, it seats 6! 😁 (combination of bad photos and my lack of imagination I think).

You don't have to keep the table in for viewings, necessarily, if you feel it doesn't suit the layout. It's for the pictures, to demonstrate a table can fit. That's important to lots of people, eg 3boys above.

Is the wardrobe open or the door broken? Either way, keep it closed and hidden.
A spare room can be such a retreat. Why not remove everything from the top of the chest of drawers and replace it with a few pleasantries?
