recommendations for a rich terracota/burnt orange paint

It's for an internal staircase ,practically no natural light .

Have looked at F&B but Charolltes Locks looks a bit too orange ?Plus a lot of talk from customers about 4 ,5 coats !

And maybe I should do only one wall ? might be a bit narrow /too claustrophobic to do both ? But what colour for other wall ?

And what for skirting and door ....

I'm no good at this .

There's a Valspar one called Brioche - you have to have it mixed. I was looking for something lighter than the mid brown we had in our hall and bought this. It was actually the same tone as the existing paint, just a more orangey brown, so after painting a small area I stopped and got something else.

I've still got the rest of the tin you can have if you're in the Manchester area!

Charlotte's Locks is stunning but it is VERY orange. Terracotta is quite hard to live with, I think. Have you considered ochre? Something like Little Greene's Yellow Pink or Dulux Cherished Gold?

Devora - that's a v interesting thread ,and yes Yellow Pink looks interesting .

Sadly I think I've overthought this and am now very stuck .Had 2 new lights fitted in staircase yesterday and the lighting is transformed ,so a big new factor to consider .

Oooh I'm with devora are you sure about this? That's why fast food places use these reds and oranges because you want to get way from them!
I like mid century oranges as I'm into that but...not too much on walls. And never terracotta. Unless outside. Eeek the thought is making me itchy.

I've just painted my entrance hall Dulux Dutch Gold 2. Looks lovely. Have been looking for an orangey colour for ages. They do test posts at Homebase. Hth.

We went with Dulux Tuscan terracotta for our enclosed hallway and I'm very happy with it. I worried it would be too dark/bold but with a light carpet and accessories it's just really warm and inviting. Took 2 coats onto white undercoated walls

Yes a bold hallway isn't too bad as you are in and out. If you like that sort of thing that is
